Buenos Aires, March 24 (NA) — Giuliano Simeone gave a categorical definition about his future and flatly ruled out the possibility of ever playing for Boca Juniors, in a response that also included Real Madrid. The son of Diego Simeone, who currently plays for Atlético Madrid, was asked about a hypothetical proposal from Juan Román Riquelme and assured that there is no possibility whatsoever. The midfielder, who is also increasingly appearing on the radar of the Argentina national team, drew a direct line between the two scenarios: he stated that going to Boca would be comparable to moving to Real Madrid for him, due to his identification with the 'colchoneros' club and the football history of his family. Giuliano's stance did not surprise the world of River Plate. His brother Giovanni Simeone had a stint at the Núñez club at the start of his career, while their father, 'Cholo', was the coach of the 'Millionaire' between 2007 and 2008, winning the Torneo Clausura in that cycle. In this context, Giuliano's statement reinforced the football ties of the Simeone family with River and closed any future speculation with Boca, according to the Argentine News Agency. The declaration also came amid rumors that place Giovanni as an option for the Núñez team in upcoming transfer markets.
